TEXTBOOK:
Iterative Solution Methods. Owe Axelsson. Cambridge University Press, 1994.

HOMEWORK 4:

Write a MatLab program that solves a general tridiagonal system of linear equations, see pp. 24-25 of the textbook. Test the program. Try to find such matrix that the program computes a completely wrong solution without any warnings. Explain, why it is possible. Write a report on your numerical results. The program and the report should be placed in the subdirectory ~/public_html/nlas97. Links should be added on your nlas97 Web page to the text of the program and the report.

Due March 4. No need to report.

Students can communicate with each other and the teacher using the WWW page for comments.
